July 2010 – CWB has been hired to design a 4,200 sq. ft, 2-story plus walk out, finished basement, timber frame and SIP – stone – hybrid home on a gorgeous 128 acre setting of woods, pond and ravines in Martinsville IN. The project is ‘fast tracked’ with the goal to be ready for construction this fall. The timber frame will be made of oak – some of which will be logged from the client’s property.
March 2010 – Custom Woodcraft Builders will be raising the timber frame on a 5,200 square foot Douglass Fir SIP home located on 14 acres south of Bloomington, IN.
February 2010 – CWB was just hired by a couple to design their log home dream house on Lake Sweetwater in Brown County, IN. The home will be 3,200 sq. ft on 5 wooded acres of lake front property with a separate oversized garage and walkout basement. Concept drawings have begun for the architecture portion of the project.
January 2010 – The log trusses are raised for the Jack Craig Foundation project in Greene County, Indiana.
January 2010 – The foundation is completed for the Bloomington, Indiana, residence. Subflooring begins and the timbers are delivered to CWB for the handcrafting to begin.
November 2009 – Cooper Hardwoods trusses are completed and delivered.
November 2009 – The ground is broken for the Bloomington, Indiana, residence on a 5,200 sf timber frame home.
October 2009 – The Marion University EcoLab project is completed on October 31st – just 60 days from design to completion.
October 2009 – The Jack Craig Foundation hires CWB to provide the log truss system for their new Nature Preserve headquarters on 130 acres in Greene County, Indiana.
September 2009 – The Beamery is chosen to build a round timber frame EcoLab at Marion University in Marion, Indiana.
September 2009 – Cooper Hardwoods hires CWB to build trusses for their new home office. This project is unique because the trusses are being milled from trees on their own property in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
August 2009 – Blueprint are completed for 5,200 sf Douglass Fir timber frame resident on 15 acres in Bloomington, Indiana.
July 2009 – Poplar timber frame delivered and raised July 7, 2009, in Peoria Illinois for Lakeside Custom Homes. SIP panels delivered and installed on July 14, 2009.
June 2009 – Custom Woodcraft Builders and University of Log Homes are the first to co-sponsor The Outdoor Sports Lake & Cabin Show March 12-14, 2010 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, produced by Coliseum Productions. Both will have a booth display in the show.
May 2009 – Lakeside Construction in Peoria, Illinois, has hired Custom Woodcraft Builders to provide one of its Beamery timber frames and a SIP roof for a client’s home in the Peoria, Illinois, area. The Custom Woodcraft price was 1/3 less than the local Illinois timber framer that also quoted the project. The timber frame will be handcrafted in poplar.
April 2009 – A Lebanon, Indiana, couple hires Custom Woodcraft Builders to design their timber frame home to be built on the family farm.
April 2009 – Our team of architects is designing a timber frame home on a lake in Tennessee on the side of a mountain with a very steep drop-off.
March 2009 – Custom Woodcraft Builders again exhibits in the Indianapolis Log Home & Timber Frame Expo inviting over 70 guests.
February 2009 – Custom Woodcraft Builders now offers an initial architect consultation with preliminary sketches and a rough budget all at no charge.
February 2009 – Custom Woodcraft Builders asked to bid on, design, and engineer a 130′ x 90′ clear span timber frame pavilion for a downtown casino project in Western Missouri.
January 2009 – Custom Woodcraft Builders rolls out additional options for plans and designs involving our experienced architects that fit many different budgets.

December 2008 – David Marquart is hired by the publisher of Log Homes Illustrated and Timber Homes Illustrated to supervise the set up and dismantle of all Log Home & Timber Frame Expos for the spring of 2009.
November 2008 – A Champaign, Illinois, couple acting as their own GC hires Custom Woodcraft Builders to provide timber trusses, decorative beams and entry facade for their home – with 3 weeks turnaround.
October 2008 – Custom Woodcraft Builders has a booth at the Chicago Log Home & Timber Frame Expo in Schaumburg, Illinois.
October 2008 – Custom Woodcraft Builders exhibits in Indiana’s first ‘Green’ trade show in Fort Wayne, Indiana – The Good Life Show. CWB featured its green products of SIPs (structural insulated panels), reclaimed lumber, and timber frames from dead standing trees.
September 2008 – Custom Woodcraft Builders and SLW architects offer added options for home design and construction blueprints. Several packages are now offered at a variety of price points.
September 2008 – Custom Woodcraft Builders and The Beamery join forces to streamline timber frame design and construction all under one roof.
August 2008- A New Hampshire couple moving to Bloomington, Indiana, contract Custom Woodcraft Builders to design, build – turnkey their 5,000 sq. ft. timber frame home on 20 acres with a wine cellar basement, 3 car garage, and barn with geothermal.
July 2008 – Custom Woodcraft Builders is asked to consult on the construction of a 10,000 sq. ft. log conference center for the military at Camp Atteberry in Southern Indiana.
June 2008 – David Marquart has been hired by the publisher of Log Homes Illustrated and Timber Homes Illustrated to supervise the set up and dismantle of all Log Home & Timber Frame Expos for the fall of 2008.
June 2008 – Custom Woodcraft Builders negotiates a log package of 12″ hand hewn spruce out of Canada for a 40% cost savings from the next comparable bid for a project in Fishers, Indiana.
5/19/08 – A Greenfield, Indiana couple hired Custom Woodcraft Builders to design and draw blueprints for their timber frame home west of Indianapolis, Indiana, on 42 acres in Putnam County.
5/1/08 – Custom Woodcraft Builders has negotiated an additional 8% discount on SIPs from Eagle Panel for orders placed in the next 90 days. This 8% on top of the 8% dealer commission that we pass directly on to the client makes buying time and energy saving SIPs even more affordable.
4/2/08 – An Indianapolis, Indiana, couple has contracted with CWB to be his builder of the 3,600 sq. ft. hand-crafted log home (18″-20″ logs) on 26 acres in Brown County, Indiana. Work will begin this spring with the log package due this summer and completion this fall.
3/16/08 – CWB has taken bids from 8 different log manufacturers from around the country to make sure its client is getting the absolute best price for their log home in Indiana.
3/1/08 – Fishers/Geist area couple has hired Custom Woodcraft Builders to design and do blueprints for his 2,600 sq. ft. handcrafted log home on 26 acres in Brown County, Indiana.
2/19/08 – A professor couple of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, have contracted with Custom Woodcraft Builders to design their new timber frame home on 12 wooded acres north of Pittsburgh.
2/13/08 – Custom Woodcraft Builders will exhibit again at the Log Home & Timber Frame Expo March 14-16, 2008, at the Indiana State Fairgrounds – Blue Ribbon Pavilion – Indianapolis, Indiana. (www.logexpo.com)
1/30/08 – Final rafters are flown and installed at the 9240 Mud Creek oak timber frame project. Feel free to drive by and see it at any time.
1/29/08 – Better Business Bureau issues Custom Woodcraft Builders its Accredited Business Certificate.
1/28/08 – WIBC Radio – The Big Show (with Dave Wilson & Joe Staysniak) feature the timber frame building industry and interview David Marquart, President of Custom Woodcraft Builders live on the air during their afternoon show.
1/26/08 – The Topics and Indy Star both featured articles on a recent timber frame raising by Custom Woodcraft Builders in the Indianapolis and Fishers, Indiana area.
1/26/08 – An artist couple in Fishers contracts with Custom Woodcraft Builders to design and build a new 3,600 sq. ft. log home with 3 car garage and 2 studios. The project will be nestled into their beautiful wooded lot on the north side of Indianapolis, Indiana in Fishers. The job will also include the demolition and removal of their existing home. Work should start this spring.

1/15/08 – Test fitting for all the joinery of the Mud Creek oak frame happens.
1/8/08 – Slab poured and design cuts scheduled for the project on Mud Creek.
1/1/08 – Custom Woodcraft Builders is listed in the annual show workbook under builder and general contractor for all Log Home & Timber Frame Expos in 2008 as well as in the annual buyers guide for Log Homes Illustrated, Timber Frames Illustrated, Country’s Best Log Homes & Custom Wood Homes.
12/18/07 – Foundation dug for our Mud Creek 2,200 sq. ft. timber frame barn in Indianapolis.
11/29/07 – SIPs and tongue & grove ceiling were successfully installed at our Zionsville, IN project in the middle of a snow storm. Yes, Custom Woodcraft Builders works year round in all kinds of weather.
11/14/07 – The 3,600 sq. ft. timber frame home raising project in Zionsville, IN was completed in 2 1/2 days. Invitations for a hard hat tour of the SIP panel installation will be sent out next week.
11/13/07 – Custom Woodcraft Builders applied for and was successfully granted two variance petitions for a timber frame product in Indianapolis, IN via the Division of Planning and Metropolitan Development of the City of Indianapolis, IN.
11/2/07 – The frame will be ‘raised’ the week of November 12th for our Zionsville project. The address is 5053 S. 650E if you would like to set up a time to see a traditional mortise and tenon timber frame being installed. SIP panels will follow 2 weeks later. 10/29/07 – The owner of of Digital Home Works in Indianapolis just could not find anyone to add a custom deck, roof and skylights to his log home utilizing the timbers from his property as the main post and generally matching the rustic look of the existing cabin and setting. No problem for Custom Woodcraft Builders. The project on 6800 block of Allisonville Road begins November 9th and will wrap up by years end.
10/1/07 – David Marquart hired to supervise the stacking of two log homes at the Denver Log Home & Timber Frame Expo at the Denver Merchandise Mart. David has worked this event for over a 10 years.
9/20/07 – Custom Woodcraft Builders (CWB) sponsored the exhibitor lounge at the Log & Timber Frame Expo in Chicago. David Marquart, President of CWB, was on hand to meet with exhibiting manufacturers and various industry suppliers as well as meet with customers to help choose the log or timber style to fit their needs.
7/19/07 – Custom Woodcraft Builders is hired by Hugh Harlan of Harlan Industries to build a 4,200 square foot log home as a company retreat. The home will be built on Zion Lake outside of Seymour, Indiana in the spring of 2008.
6/12/07 – Custom Woodcraft Builders is hired as the general contractor for the new 3,600 sq. ft. timber frame home of a doctor couple on 10 acres just outside of Zionsville, Indiana. The timber frame is being provided by Timbersmith and the frame will be erected this fall.
5/8/07 – Custom Woodcraft Builders contracted to build a 2,200 sq. ft barn – carriage house featuring traditional mortise and tenon timber framing as well as a back yard pavilion around a huge outdoor fireplace – also a timber frame. Project can be seen on Mud Creek Road in Marion County, Indiana and will start the first of December. Frame provided by The Beamery.
4/2007 – Custom Woodcraft Builders is listed in the classified ads for nearly all issue of the following magazines under ‘Indiana dealers’ and ‘Builders’: Log Homes Illustrated, Timber Homes Illustrated, Luxury Log Homes and Country Best Log Homes.
2/16/07 – Joining Custom Woodcraft Builders in its booth at the March 16-18, 2007 Log Home & Timber Frame Expo will be Indiana’s exclusive dealer for Shirestone Custom Countertops – Artistic Stone Counters, Inc. Also in the CWB booth will be Eagle Panel Systems, Deep Creek Log Homes and Long Creek Timber Framers.
